DEAR COMPATRIOTS FELLOW COUNTRYMEN
My tonight’s greeting constitutes double honour for me. Firstly because I have the high privilege to represent the residents of Potamia as elected Chairman and second to be addressing to you, my compatriots, the fellow countrymen of Canada who all of you together make us proud on the other side of the world and every each one of you independently constitutes a fighter in life, making almost from nothing, worthy families and fortunes.
My dear compatriots and we here in the homeland in our village in Potamia, despite the bad economic and political situation, we fight so that we can continue the work that our ancestors carried out. We try to keep our community alive as well as our cultural association and athletic club. In collaboration with our new Municipality of Sparta we execute the necessary work in our village in order for those who live permanently in the village and for those that come occasionally, to enjoy the goods of our culture.
Tonight, through this greeting, I would want to ensure you that all of us here, will continue supporting our village. We have a lot of plans for the future and many of them should be supported by our economic resources, via donations and charities. For this reason all the residents of this village, permanent and homogenous and our associations should be activated and be ready to fulfil.
We all know and appreciate the beauty of our village of our Potamia. Therefore, all of us should put in our appearance for the invitation card, for a better Potamia, or via donation or via a visit to our village. Do not forget “Alonia”, “Kriovrisi”, our river, our school, our ancestors at Saint Dimitri. All these are here and are waiting for you. 
I personally, as well as the residents of our community we wish you a Happy New Year, many happy returns and good prosperity.
